Namaz, salah and prayer times - how this works
Every prayer time here is calculated from the sun's position for that city's exact coordinates and today's date, using established methods such as the Muslim World League, ISNA, Umm al-Qura and Karachi. Whether you search for namaz time, salah time, azan time or prayer time, pick your city for today's five times, a full month table, a live countdown, the qibla direction and the Ramadan timetable. Common questions
What are the five daily prayer (namaz) times?
The five obligatory prayers are Fajr (dawn), Dhuhr (midday), Asr (afternoon), Maghrib (just after sunset) and Isha (night). The azan (adhan) is called at the start of each. Their times shift daily with the sun, so they differ by date and city.
What is the difference between namaz time, salah time and prayer time?
They mean the same thing - "namaz" (Urdu, Persian, Turkish), "salah / salat" (Arabic) and "prayer" (English) all refer to the five daily prayers. This site shows the same Fajr, Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha times under each name.
How are prayer times calculated?
They come from the sun's angle for your city's coordinates and today's date. Organisations use slightly different twilight angles (calculation methods) for Fajr and Isha - see the methods page. Times here are computed via the Aladhan service.
Are these prayer times exact?
They are accurate astronomical estimates. For the precise start of a prayer, especially Fajr and Isha, follow your local mosque or community.
